Sad to hear this, but what a long life and a fascinating career. Also, married to the same man for 65 years (until he passed away)! What an era for musicals she thrived in and what a peach of a lady she this clip Crosby must have the lightest touch ever of any "pianist"!

I heard this dreadful news this morning, probably due to the time difference here in the UK (it's Friday morning here).  She made her final screen appearance the year before my 74-year-old stepfather was born.  Sad news; RIP.

*Incidentally, when typing RIP, the letters between the IP bit are KO, giving you RKO - the studio where she made KENTUCKY KERNELS in 1934. x

The Wedding Night became known around town as “Goldwyn’s Last Sten,” but […]

Murnau and the Phantoms of Germany

To view Phantom click here. It’s that time of year when Nosferatu (1922), F.W. Murnau’s interpretation of Dracula, appears on lists of recommended horror films. The oldest, existing film version of Bram Stoker’s novel, Nosferatu is likely Murnau’s most watched title. It’s eerie Expressionist style was a major influence on the American horror genre, but […]
