The Golden Age of Hollywood

Okay, I was browsing online deciding on my final online film  purchase when I came across this title.  The reviews sound relatively good but I would like to know from you GOAH members  if it is any good, or for that matter, which out of the 6 or 7 Claudette Colbert and Fred Macmurray films I came across after this discovery, is considered their best.

Cheers!

I just now saw your post from 2010! I don't know if you still visit GAOH, but I feel an obligation to post my opinion on this film for the sake of anyone who's curious.

The film has good reviews, but I was a little disappointed in it. Claudette lands her man (Ray Milland), but it wasn't entirely clear to me why she decided she preferred poor journalist Fred MacMurray to rich nobleman Ray Milland. I thought that part of the plot was a little weak. But it's an enjoyable movie.

For the best pairing of Claudette and Fred, I would choose The Egg and I. I have seen most of their pairings. I have in my collection:

The Egg and I

No Time for Love

The Gilded Lily

The Bride Comes Home

Family Honeymoon

Maid of Salem (haven't yet watched)

Let me know (anybody) if you want specific information on any of these.
