Do we think we've exhausted this topic, Rosie?
And does anyone have any suggestions for a new one?
Actually thought of a new topic ! How's this ??
*** MOVIES FEATURING A NATURAL DISASTER ***
i.e. movies where there is the aftermath of a natural disaster. I'm thinking snow storms, tidal waves, blizzards, volcanos erupting and other events compliments of Mother Nature.
Could this be a starter?
Let's do it, John! :D
Rosie must be busy elsewhere lately but I'm sure she wouldn't mind us starting.
What do you think? Feel free to "kick off" this round !
Hope all is well with you. Great to hear from you.
“Movies Featuring a Natural Disaster”
This may not be what you had in mind. But one of the most famous movies I have ever watched featured a tornado, that led to a fascinating adventure, featuring a horse of a different color, flying monkeys, and ruby slippers. Need you guess. THE WIZARD OF OZ. I think this qualifies as an aftermath even if it just existed in a dream after a tornado.
I'd say it definitely qualifies and what a great one to start the topic with! Thanks Gem Data !! Brilliant work. :D
Hi, gang! I like Gem Data's idea, so here's my contribution:
2. San Francisco - Story of the aftermath of the San Francisco earthquake, and this reminds me of another movie (hint).
3. The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961) - British science fiction disaster movie directed by Val Guest, starring Edward Judd, Janet Monroe and Leo Mckern.
The super powers, the Soviet Union and the United States of America unbeknown to each other, detonate nuclear warheads simultaneously that cause catastrophic repercussions all over the Earth.
Volcanos, earthquakes, pestilence, chaos, temperature fluctuations, floods and fires ravage the planet.
World leaders fear the Earth is doomed.
The Day After Tomorrow.
After climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) is largely ignored by U.N. officials when presenting his environmental concerns, his research proves true when an enormous "superstorm" develops, setting off catastrophic natural disasters throughout the world. Trying to get to his son, Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal), who is trapped in New York with his friend Laura (Emmy Rossum) and others, Jack and his crew must travel by foot from Philadelphia, braving the elements, to get to Sam before it's too late
