IN OUR NECK OF THE WOODS TODAY

I'm not sure just how this came about but here's the news from 

LaSalle County ( where we live )  Our oldest son and his family live in Plano, 

 and both our youngest son and our daughter and their children live

5 mins. down the road in Lake Holiday.  Mendota is not quite as close....

we are about 30 miles west of them.

My grandchildren are ecstatic and that's not an overstatement ; ))

Laurel and Hardy Sound Films Reach US at last on DVD

The eyes in the banner

Several of you have wondered who the eyes belong to in the current banner. So far guesses have been Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Montgomery Clift and also the same eyes I have on my personal page (Bela Lugosi). All have been wrong thus far. I have given two hints so far and they are:

 

1. He was a huge box office draw and known mostly for his action films.

2. He was not born an American but was very popular in American films.
