I'm Still Here,,,,

I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still here.. I haven't been on much other then to check when I got new messages, I have seen and enjoyed all the messages you folks sent over Valentines day and ect.
Hopefully things will slow down and I can get back into this again soon, I haven't been on Golden Age of Hollywood in a long time either, and I rarely go to TCM either.
Besides, I enjoy these cominuties much more then I ever did TCM, When I can find the time, I'm still trying to do my regular blog too..

Hi Ken,
I read some of your blog posts, and we definitely think alike! ver interesting! I especially agree with your sentiments about the current throwaway society we have now. I really hate waste and feel guilty when I throw things away and add to the size of landfills. Also, I find as I get older, I am more hesitant to accumulate useless "stuff" in my life.
Talk to you soon and I will continue to check out your blog and keep you posted on my impressions.
Best,
Laura

Thanks for your very kind and generous comments, Ken, I truly appreciate it. Writing has always been my passion, but it is a scary process sometimes, which makes it so tough to begin. I kind of coaxed myself along when those moments came--promising myself I would at least write a paragraph. Then, when you find your "voice," a sort of flow begins. Believe me, it was tough going, but so rewarding!

Thanks for your blogspot link--I really like your style and will be sure to bookmark it for future reference.

Great favorite movie choices too--I just saw Casablanca last night. What a fabulous movie with 3 phenomenal actors: Bogart, Claude Rains, and Conrad Veidt!
Talk to you soon!
Best,
Laura

Yes it is quite difficult to buy classics here. If I want to see a film I either rent it or buy it online if I can't find it and I really want to see it. Thankfully I know a guy who partly owns a classic film store and he is as much into classic films as I am. We have some very good chats and he recommends me films. My video store near me also has a very good classic film section and that store is what got me into classic films when I started watching them as I always had classics near me and on hand for a few bucks.

Affairs of the Heart: The Wedding Night (1935)

To view The Wedding Night click here. The Wedding Night was doomed from the start. It was producer Samuel Goldwyn’s final attempt at making the Ukrainian actress Anna Sten into a Garbo-level star, and his persistence had become something of a Hollywood joke. The Wedding Night became known around town as “Goldwyn’s Last Sten,” but […]

Murnau and the Phantoms of Germany

To view Phantom click here. It’s that time of year when Nosferatu (1922), F.W. Murnau’s interpretation of Dracula, appears on lists of recommended horror films. The oldest, existing film version of Bram Stoker’s novel, Nosferatu is likely Murnau’s most watched title. It’s eerie Expressionist style was a major influence on the American horror genre, but […]
