About Me: Tell us about yourself/or your love for classic movies
I was invited by Kevin to join the 'Golden Age' group due to my extensive interest in movie history both in Britain and America. As a portrait photographer for over 25 years, I was amazed by the quality of portraiture produced in the 1920's and 30's, especially in Hollywood. My interests in both fields culminated in my producing a series of Montage videos for Youtube titled MOVIE LEGENDS covering the whole history of movies starting from the silent era and currently moving up to the 1960's.

If you would like to check out my 'basilnelson' Youtube Channel, you are welcome to browse through over 590 tributes to individual Stars, with new titles being released every week.

Hi Baz,,,just wanted to let you know, that the video of Conchita Montenegro was

great ...As always you did a great job...I've been out of town a lot,and didn't you do something with Alice White....I was just thinking when I seen her in "The Naughty Flirt"...That she would have been great in the Claudette Colbert role in 'It Happened

One Night'...She could have handled that part with ease.....I think that Conchita Montenegro, and Alice White's careers could have been handled a heck of a lot better...They deserved better......................................................................................

Please don't remove the videos. I just embedded them on Nitrateville and a couple of other places. I'll eventually upload them on my own channel, but it may be awhile before I do so. I enjoyed the Dolores Del Rio tribute. Haven't watched the other two yet. I'll get to Rita and Van later.

The Tribute TV Channel sounds good to me. As long as I would be able to log in on Youtube, which I'm not sure about? Of course I would not need to log in just for the 4 videos I have worked on. I can send them to you with Pando to post. Thanks much for offering to help me out. It is much appreciated.

Dear Baz, thank you for your comment and I'm glad I was useful. I will post a bit more of Joel and the others soon. I keep searching for photos of Lars Hanson and Alan Marshal. Such gorgeous actors, but it's not easy to find much of their photos.

Thank you for posting those great Movie Legends. You know, my
daughter thinks Virginia Grey is just super. When she saw "The
Women" the actress that stood out for her was the girl behind
the perfume counter - she thought her hair was really amazing!!

Affairs of the Heart: The Wedding Night (1935)

To view The Wedding Night click here. The Wedding Night was doomed from the start. It was producer Samuel Goldwyn’s final attempt at making the Ukrainian actress Anna Sten into a Garbo-level star, and his persistence had become something of a Hollywood joke. The Wedding Night became known around town as “Goldwyn’s Last Sten,” but […]

Murnau and the Phantoms of Germany

To view Phantom click here. It’s that time of year when Nosferatu (1922), F.W. Murnau’s interpretation of Dracula, appears on lists of recommended horror films. The oldest, existing film version of Bram Stoker’s novel, Nosferatu is likely Murnau’s most watched title. It’s eerie Expressionist style was a major influence on the American horror genre, but […]
