"I don't blame John for this - Mayer sounds like such a common little man, but of course the effect on John's career was devastating.  Looking at Queen Christina you can see the impact that it had on his confidence."

Josh R.S. Lech commented on Shane's group John Gilbert Fans
"I heard that it started the day that He and Greta Garbo were supposed to be married but she didn't show up. He was in the bathroom with Mayer who told him to just sleep with her and John decked him."

"I read John Gilbert's biography by his daughter Letrice Fountain, and it was most interesting.  His short life was a very difficult one, and I think the way he was treated by Louis B. Mayer was  unforgiveable."

Hi Shane-Welcome aboard. My favorite Tarzan is Weissmuller, but I think Gordon was the next best. He also had a gorgeous Jane, Eve Brent. I think Greatest Adventure and the Magnificent are two of the greatest Tarzan films made . My favorite Tarzan film is and the Leopard Woman and I love Brenda Joyce. Look forward to your comments.
Yours,Dave.

Affairs of the Heart: The Wedding Night (1935)
