Favorite Film (or TV episode) Directed by Ida?

I really love The Trouble With Angels, The Hitch-Hiker and The Bigamist. Actually, they're all really good but those are the ones I watch the most. As for tv shows, The Masks episode of The Twilight Zone was great, and I also really like the episode of Screen Directors Playhouse that she directed. She directed episodes of so many of my favorite tv shows, I think there are too many to list. What's your favorite(s) movie or tv episode directed by Ida? See More

Greetings, Jennifer! I too love Jean Harlow and have her as a favorite actress of mine. She's always so fun to watch in her pictures because of her versatility and natural talent. Wonderful in Comedic roles as well as serious, dramatic roles. For me, BOMBSHELL and DINNER AT EIGHT (both made the same year) are her funniest roles, and also LIBELED LADY. Such a shame she died so young. I would love to have seen her in a full 40s mode. She would've been at her peak!

Man’s Castle 1933

Embarrassed to say but I just watched Frank Borzage’s Man’s Castle for the first time this week. Wow, what a movie! Spencer Tracy and Loretta Young are both excellent but the way the movie plows headlong into the plight of desperate people during the despression is remarkable. There are some obvious hard cuts in the movie […]
