About Me: Tell us about yourself/or your love for classic movies
~ A vintage girl living in a modern world. ~

My name is Ana, I'm 12 years old and I live in Brasil. I born at the wrong time, and at the wrong place. Yes, I should be born in 1904, 06 in Paris, my favorite city, in my favorite country. I'm a quirky old soul who loves the classic Hollywood era and the French music. I do love Edith Piaf, I love her almost than my life. I'm a great fan of Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Lucille Ball. I love them too, haha. For me, Joan was the most beautiful woman in the history of Hollywood. Bette is my favorite actress and Lucille always make me laugh, even in the worst situation. They're amazing. I really like Greta Garbo too. She's the most perfect woman for me.

Well, I live in Santos, São Paulo state in Brazil. I hate here lol Actually, I don't like Brazil at all. I love to listen to music -- French music, my Edith, read, sing and watch old movies. I don't have a lot of friends, everybody think I'm weird. My favorite decade of movies is the 40s/50s. But my favorite movie is from 1962, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. I like the old TV shows too. My favorite, of course, is I Love Lucy. And it IS the best. I love The Munsters, The Addams Family, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart and Gilligan's Island too. But I Love Lucy still the best to me, hehe. My "platonic love" is Cary Grant and Marlon Brando. Marlon is the perfect man for me. I envy Edith Piaf for that. She was his lover, haha. But, I still have Cary xD lol

Well, I just know that I hate my generation. Yes, I do. I hate my time, my life is on the past and forever will be. *-*

I hope make many new friends here! :)

Ana.

Affairs of the Heart: The Wedding Night (1935)

To view The Wedding Night click here. The Wedding Night was doomed from the start. It was producer Samuel Goldwyn’s final attempt at making the Ukrainian actress Anna Sten into a Garbo-level star, and his persistence had become something of a Hollywood joke. The Wedding Night became known around town as “Goldwyn’s Last Sten,” but […]

Murnau and the Phantoms of Germany

To view Phantom click here. It’s that time of year when Nosferatu (1922), F.W. Murnau’s interpretation of Dracula, appears on lists of recommended horror films. The oldest, existing film version of Bram Stoker’s novel, Nosferatu is likely Murnau’s most watched title. It’s eerie Expressionist style was a major influence on the American horror genre, but […]
