I had a friend visiting for Labor Day weekend, and we watched several of my favorite movies, including On Approval, Hobson's Choice, and Easy Living.
I was going to watch something tonight but couldn't decide what it should be. Too many choices!
Watching pre-Codes lately. Saw Midnight Mary last night (really enjoyed it) and Frisco Jenny tonight. Frisco Jenny was quite a downer. Life was unfair to Jenny from beginning to end, but Ruth Chatterton was great in the lead role The depressing plots are the reason I don't watch a lot of pre-Codes. It is interesting, though, to watch some movies a little earlier than the screwball comedies I usually watch, which are normally from 1936 to the 1940s. The pre-Codes have a special and very distinctive 1930s flavor to them.
